Here are the General Editorial Positions Offered: (not all may be offered every year)
Editor-in-Chief: Responsibilities include general management of the newspaper, working closely with the staff to make decisions about newspaper content and coverage; reads all articles before publication; gives final approval for publication; serves as the official spokesperson for the newspaper staff.
Business Manager: Works with the Circulation Manager to stay on the production schedule; tracks production costs; accounts for income derived from sales of additional copies of the newspaper; coordinates any fund-raising, gift donations (monetary or supplies) or other income.
Circulation Manager: Responsibilities include coordinating distribution of the newspaper, working with the printer representative and newspaper staff to deliver the paper on time.
Copy Editor: Responsibilities include proofreading all stories submitted for publication (grammar, spelling, punctuation); writing headlines; working with reporters to edit the stories if needed and with the graphic designer to make sure the stories and headlines fit.
Photo Editor: Responsibilities include assigning photographers to take photos to both accompany a story or stand alone in the newspaper; writing captions; ensuring appropriateness of the photos and people in them.
